Europe Travel Itinerary for Pinoys – Day 59 to Day 101 of My 101 Days in Europe

This is the second part of my 101 Days Itinerary in Europe covering Day 59 to Day 101.  Days 1 to 58 is here.  This is just an itinerary rundown of the places i have seen and the things I have done.  I will make a separate post per country detailing my experiences and perhaps sharing some travel tips.

Day 59

I took a bus to Sofia after lunch.  It’s a good thing that there is a regular bus that runs from Skopje to Sofia. Travel time is 6 hours enjoying a good view of Macedonia and Bulgaria countryside.  I saw dozens and dozens of Lavender, Sunflower and Canola fields as well as vineyards.  I arrived in Sofia early in the evening.  From the bus station, I took a taxi to my hotel.

Day 60

I did a whole day old town Sofia Tour.  Sofia has some of the best looking Orthodox Churches I have seen.  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Sofia.

Day 61

After breakfast, I did some city walk before transferring to the bus station for my trip to Bucharest.  I arrived in Bucharest late in the afternoon. After check in, I did some city tour.

Day 62

I did a whole day Old Town Bucharest Tour.    I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Bucharest.

Day 63

I did another Bucharest Tour. I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Bucharest.

Day 64

Today I am flying to Istanbul via Turkish Airways.  I woke up a bit late. My flight after lunch.  I arrived in Istanbul a little past 2pm and from the airport, I took a tram to my hotel located at Taksim Square. Istanbul has a nice tram though very crowded.  In the afternoon, I just walked around Taksim Square.

Day 65

I did a whole day Istanbul Tour visiting some of its UNESCO world heritage sites.  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Istabul.

Day 66

I did a morning tour and flew to Nicosia in the afternoon.  I entered through North Cyprus but my hotel is in Cyprus.  I will make a separate blog post about my immigration experience in North Cyprus and Cyprus. Late in the afternoon, I did a walking tour in Nicosia, North Cyprus.  Nicosia is both the capital of North Cyprus and Cyprus.  North Nicosia belongs to North Cyprus and South Nicosia belongs to Cyprus. I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in North Nicosia or Lefkosia as locals call it.

Day 67

I did a whole day Old Town Nicosia, Cyprus tour. I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Nicosia.

Day 68

I flew to Athens in the morning via Pegasus Air.  Upon arrival in Athens, I took a bus to reach my hotel. I did a short walk around the vicinity of my hotel.  Summer is at its peak now. It’s 10pm and the sun is still up.

Day 69

I woke up early and did a whole day city tour.  It’s too hot and the temperature today reached 42 degrees Celsius.  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Athens.

Day 70

I did an early flight to Rome and upon arrival, I proceeded immediately to my hotel taking the airport bus.  I left my luggage in the concierge and went immediately to Vatican.  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Vatican.

Day 71

I did a whole day Rome tour visiting the best of the eternal city.  If there is one thing I like about Italy, it is Rome. I can live here!  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Rome.

Day 72

I went on a pilgrimage to Padre Pio in San Giovanni Rotunda.  I will make a separate blog entry about my visit to Padre Pio.

Day 73

I did a whole day San Marino Tour.  San Marino is the world’s oldest republic.  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in San Marino.

Day 74

I did another Rome tour.  In the evening, I flew to Malta.  Upon arrival in Valleta, I took a taxi to reach my hotel.

Day 75

I woke up early and did a whole day Malta Tour.  The island of Malta is so historic that staying here for just few days is a pity.  Hopefully I can be back again here.  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Valleta.

Day 76

I did another tour of Malta and flew to Milan in the evening.  From Linate airport, I took an airport shuttle to reach my hotel.

Day 77

I did a whole day Milan Tour.  Milan is a UNESCO world heritage site and the world’s fashion capital.  Milan really is a beautiful city.  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Milan.

Day 78

I did a whole day Liechtenstein tour.  Liechtenstein is one of the smallest countries in the world located in the boarders of Switzerland and Austria.   I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Liechtenstein.

Day 79

I did a whole day tour visiting Florence and Pisa.  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Florence and Pisa.

Day 80

I did another Milan tour in the morning before transferring to Geneva in the afternoon.  At Geneva train station, I took a tram to reach my hotel.

Day 81

I did a whole day Geneva Tour and visited the UNESCO world heritage site of Old Town Geneva.  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Geneva.

Day 82

I did a whole day Monaco Tour.  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Monte Carlo.

Day 83

I did a morning Nice city tour and afternoon Marseilles Tour.  In the evening, I took an overnight bus to Barcelona.  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Nice and Marseilles.

Day 84

Upon arrival, I proceeded to my hotel and took a rest.  In the afternoon, I walked around the vicinity of my hotel.

Day 85

I did a whole day Barcelona tour. I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Barcelona.

Day 86

I did a whole day Andorra tour. I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Andorra La Vella.

Day 87

I did a last minute Barcelona tour before flying to Madrid.  Upon arrival in Madrid, I took the subway to reach my hotel.  Later in the afternoon, I walked around the vicinity of my hotel.

Day 88

I did a whole day Madrid Tour. I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Madrid.

Day 89

I did another Madrid Tour before transferring to Malaga. I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Madrid.

Day 90

I did a Malaga Tour in the morning before transferring to Gibraltar in the afternoon.  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Malaga.

Day 91

I did a whole day Gibraltar Tour.  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Gibraltar.

Day 92

I did a morning city walk in La Linea.  In the afternoon, I took a ferry to tangier Med, Morocco.  I arrived Morocco after an hour and from Tangier Med, I took a taxi to tangier Ville to catch a train to Casa Blanca.  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in La Linea and my experience taking the ferry from Algeciras to Tangier Med.

Day 93

I did a whole day Casa Blanca Tour. I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Casa Blanca.

Day 94

I did a whole day Marrakesh Tour.  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Marrakech.

Day 95

I took an early flight to Lisbon.  The immigration line I experienced at Lisbon airport is perhaps the worst ever in my life.  Immigration line is 2 hours! There were 10 counters but only 2 were being used.  Imagine the line if there are 4 flights arriving at the same time.  It was really crazy and the wifi at the airport was not working and the airconditioning is a problem too.

Day 96

I did a whole day Lisbon Tour.  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Lisbon.

Day 97

I went on a pilgrimage to Fatima.  I will make a separate blog post about my pilgrimage to Fatima

Day 98

I did a morning walk in Lisbon prior to my flight to Paris in the afternoon.  I flew to Paris in the afternoon.

Day 99

I did a whole day Paris tour.  I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Paris.

Day 100

I did another Paris Tour. I will make a separate blog post about my Self-Guided Walking Tour in Paris.

Day 101

I rested the whole day while waiting for my 8pm flight back to Manila.  101 days in Europe is finally coming to an end.  It seems only yesterday that I started this journey but now, I am flying back to Manila.  I am both happy and sad.
